Overview

Warung Nasi Daun Masakan Padang stands as a vibrant culinary gem nestled in the heart of Dengkil, Selangor. This humble Padang restaurant offers an authentic Minang dining experience that transports you directly to the rich kitchens of West Sumatra.

The menu boasts an array of dishes deeply rooted in traditional Padang flavors, with highlights like Gulai Tongkol, Sambal Merah, and robust stews such as Gulai Urat Keting and Gulai Perut. These dishes marry a harmony of spices and textures that are both bold and satisfying. Noteworthy mention must go to the Ayam Pop and Beef Rendang, which are favorites among regular diners for their depth and precise balance of spices. The sambal, whether green or red, adds an exciting fire to every bite but requires caution for those sensitive to heat.

Located at 34, B18, Kampung Sungai Buah, the warung’s modest setting belies the richness of its culinary offerings. The space is modest but functional, with enough tables to accommodate a steady stream of patrons. While the seating area can get warm during peak hours, the lively atmosphere and aroma of freshly cooked dishes more than compensate. Parking is limited, often requiring visitors to park along the roadside, a small price to pay for the quality served.

The dining experience is enhanced by the friendliness of the staff and the transparent way dishes are displayed, allowing guests to pick and customize their plates from a variety of options—meats, fish, and vegetables all cooked to perfection with genuine care. For beverages, traditional choices like iced Milo, Kopi O Ais, and Teh O Ais complement the bold flavors perfectly, providing a refreshing balance to the spicy fare.

Warung Nasi Daun appeals especially to food enthusiasts searching for an authentic Padang taste within the Klang Valley. It’s a hotspot for locals and visitors alike who appreciate hearty, flavorful meals that celebrate Minang culinary traditions without pretense. The steady lunchtime crowd speaks to the quality and authenticity treasured here, making it a worthwhile destination for anyone craving genuine Nasi Padang.

While waiting times can be long during peak hours, patience is rewarded with a meal that bursts with well-crafted flavors and nostalgic comfort. The owner’s personal touch—handcrafted by his mother’s skillful hands—infuses every dish with a sense of home and passion, turning a simple meal into a memorable experience.

For those open to exploring Indonesia’s rich culinary landscape, Warung Nasi Daun Masakan Padang offers a sincere slice of tradition wrapped in fragrant banana leaves and accompanied by spices that ignite the senses.

Hands down one of the best Nasi Padang restaurant in Bangi area. I believe it's worth the hype and every sweat and tears It has become my weekly commitment to dine at this restaurant. Warung Nasi Daun offers a delightful culinary experience, with its rich and flavorful dishes. The restaurant provides a variety of side dishes to accompany the rice, allowing you to customize your meal to your liking. You can choose from a range of meats, fish, and vegetables, all cooked to perfection. I highly recommend their Ayam Pop, Beef Rendang, Paru Garing, Gulai Urat Tunjang, Gulai Perut, Burgerdil, Keropok Kulit and Sambal. Please be careful with the gravies and sambal as they are quite spicy for some people. The service is generally friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. The queue can be long during lunch hour, so please come early or be patient while waiting for tables.

Warung Nasi Daun is located right beside the main road. Parking space is quite limited, so customers usually park along the roadside. The stall opens around 10:30 AM, and you’ll often see a queue forming as people wait to get their food. Although there are plenty of tables, the crowd keeps coming — it’s always busy. The dining area can be a little hot, but the food is absolutely delicious, with flavors similar to Padang-style Indonesian dishes. Be cautious if you can’t handle spicy food!

Got up to a cheerful and pleasant Thursday morning. Craving for Nasi Minang after watching “Terbaik Di Jalanan”, Sarina suggested we should check out the featured Warung Nasi Daun which specialises in minang cuisine located in Dengkil, Selangor. Checked Waze and was informed it will be a 40 minutes drive from Kelana Jaya. Not wanting the Mrs to be angry when she is hungry, I decided to select the destination and off we went. It was a pleasant drive and we arrived at a quaint little stall or warung at 11:00. Yes, they open at 11:00. Don’t let the aesthetics deceive you. Sarina was quite relieved that the stall was actually quite clean and tidy. Once you walk in, you will be greeted with authentic minang dishes properly displayed in order and tagged to indicate the type of dish. Boy, we were not disappointed. The minang dishes were superb. We were advised by the owner to go easy on the gravies or curries as they were very very spicy. Coincidentally, the owner of the stall happened to be my neighbour! He commutes daily to help his Mum set up the stall. It is really authentic because his Mum still does all the cooking personally. Their specialties are the pucuk ubi (tapioca leaves), the beef dendeng which was really crunchy and crispy, nangka masak lemak (which was a little unique compared to others), beef rendang which was slightly darker compared to the yellowish dish which we are used to, etc. Yes, I can go on and on… Don’t forget the sambal hijau and the sambal merah to add flavour to every mouthful. I ordered kampung black coffee to compliment the food. Total bill for the dine in (pics) was RM47. Sarina actually bungkus some food together with some rice because they take the trouble to wrap the plain warm rice in banana leaves so that the rice will be a little fragrant when eaten later. Was it worth the drive? Yes, it was worth it. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Great padang food and the price is affordable. I've been there around 11 am but the place is full already. Trying their gulai otak and gulai tunjang. Nice very nice. Will repeat again if i have time. The shop owner should remind people to not smoking in the restaurant. I see 3 4 people smoking when I'm waiting for the table. Not so nice in the eateries area

One of the best nasi padang I have ever had! Glad that I made a long detour to this warung for my nasi padang fixed. Everything was perfect, the sambal was not too spicy, perfectly balanced with the kuah and the pucuk ubi rebus. Definitely will visit this place again whenever I am nearby Dengkil! Sedap

Updated review. My first time here was almost 2 years ago. Today it has transformed from a very humble look to a hype looking stall while maintaining the originality. Kudos!!! Nasi padang sedap with gulai tunjang BUT this shop versi pedas dia tinggi sikit. Still sedap. Nescafe ais manis sangat. Authentic nasi padang but extra hot version. Still yummy. The ice nescafe is too sweet.
